Clever title isn't actually clever, given that that's just the name of the character.
Gah, loving this piece. <3 I'm not a big fan of the way the chain and the gem look, but. They had to be there. I'd say the worst part of doing this was adjusting the chain so it bent around the neck, as the chain stock was just straight. And even though it falls a bit weird, I think I did a decent job. I adore the lighting, and I think I did a decent job with the glowing effects. <3 I actually enjoyed smudging out the hair, oddly enough. I was originally going to rotate the wolf a bit more than I did, but then I realized this way it gave a nice sort of perspective. I also had a light gradient over the area with the wolf, but I decided that having the dark gradient everywhere else was enough. Anyway, I'd love some critique on this piece, if you would. <3 I almost put the sky as the northern lights...but I decided on a neutral color scheme, to bring more focus to Aurora and her shmancy gem.
Now, I don't entirely know how I got my photomanipulation inspiration back. I just was sitting there, and my brain randomly decided "hey, you're going to do a photomanipulation." So I just asked my friend Jazz (=16Jasmine16) if she had a request to make (because I didn't have inspiration, and I didn't feel like doing a horse manipulation), and she gave me her beautiful character, Aurora Arasteria to manipulate. <3
On a separate note, I don't think I've used this much stock for such a simple piece in ages.
Time Spent: 2 hours Layers: 28 (none merged, most were for lighting) Tools: GIMP 2.6, laptop trackpad (my tablet's being dumb, so no tablet)
LDKJFALDKFALSKLJFS <3333 Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. I spent ages getting the lighting perfect on the wolf. |D There are, let's see....four layers of lighting on that thing. And thank you, I love the background. <3 I had to keep tweaking it over and over, but I got it.
Daaamn gurl. That background merging! It's epic. I looove the wolf. You made it look so adorable. (And did I mention how FREAKING LSJFLIJFLIDJF AMAZING the background looks? GAH!)
Thank youuuuu ;;;;;;;;; And yes, I'm super happy with the background. <3 I've never really tried merging more than just like...a foreground and a sky. So this was a bit new for me. It took a lot of tweaking to get it looking just right, but. <3
Pretty schmancy ;D. This is probably the best animal manip I have seen thus far. You did a terrific job despite having no real inspiration. They can be so trying at times. Especially on Gimp. Now I have to go look at the rest of your gallery.
Haha I know it looks awesome!
haha
